A Changed New Year Resolution

I pray that you purpose in your heart this up coming New Year that you will at all cost, no matter what, that you will be obedient to God. Realizing that the heart is the most essential part of our bodies.
To be obedient from the heart means to give yourself fully to God, to love Him "with all your soul, and with all your mind" (Matthew 22:37). And yet so often our efforts to know and obey God's commands can best be described as "halfhearted." How do you rate your heart's obedience? God wants to give you the power to obey Him with all your heart.

Be Aware! The Guilty Never Goes Unpunished

The Lord is slow to get angry, but His power is great, and He never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays His power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath His feet. Nahum 1:3.

God is slow to get angry, but when He is ready to punish, even the earth trembles. Often people avoid God because they see evildoers in the world and hypocrites in the church. They don't realize that because God is slow to anger, He gives His true followers time to share His love and truth with evildoers. But judgment will come; God will not allow sin to go unchecked forever. When people wonder why God doesn't punish evil immediately, help them remember that if He did, none of us would be here. We can all be thankful that God gives people time to turn to Him.

God Promises a Ruler from Bethlehem.

This ruler is Jesus, the Messiah. Micah accurately predicted
Christ's birthplace hundreds of years before Jesus was born.
The promised eternal King in David's line, who would come to
live as a man, had been alive forever---"from the days of eternity."
Although eternal, Christ entered human history as the man,
Jesus of Nazareth.

The LORD says, "Bethlehem Ephrathah,
you are one of the smallest towns in Judah,
but out of you I will bring a ruler for Israel,
whose family line goes back to ancient times."
Micah 5:2.
Ephrathah was the district in which Bethlehem was located.

This Christmas will you not forget the Ruler of this world, who was
born in Bethlehem to die on the cross for our sin. It is so amazing that
He didn't stay dead. He was buried, and on the third day He arose. And
He is alive forever. Will you allow Him to be your most meaningful Gift
this Christmas? And pass on the richness of His love to others.
Jesus is the reason for this season that we call Christmas.
