The Flu season is Almost Here

When is the flu season?
Months with the heaviest flu activity are December through March.
Who should get the flu vaccine?
- All children aged 6 months - 59 months (5th birthday)
- Adults aged 50 years or older
- Persons with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, asthma, heart disease, lung disease, etc.
- Persons with a poorly functioning immune system (i.e. certain cancers, HIV/Aids, etc.
- Women who will be pregnant during the flu season
- Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities
- Children on long-term aspirin therapy
- Caregivers and household contacts of persons at high risk for complications from the flu
- Health-care workers
- Anyone who wants to reduce the risk of getting the flu
