Recognizing Stroke Symptoms, F.A.S.T:

F=FACE

Ask the person to smile. does one side of the face droop?
A=ARMS

Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
S=SPEECH

Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Does the speech sound slurred or strange?
T=TIME

If you observe any of these signs, then it's time to call 911.

Even In This Storm-Tossed Economy

When things are looking down don't give in, look up!

This is just another reason for praise-God's love for the whole world.
We should praise God for His unlimited love.

Praise the LORD, all nations;
Laud Him, all peoples!
For His lovingkindness is great toward us,
and the truth of the LORD is everlasting.
Praise the LORD! (Psalm 117).

Not only is Psalm 117 the shortest chapter in the Bible, but it is also the middle chapter.
Paul quotes from this psalm in Romans 15: 11 to show that God's salvation is for all people, not just the Jews.

What Is Worship?

Worship is a thankful response and not a repayment for what God has done.

I love the Lord, because He hears my voice and my supplications.
Because He has inclined His ear to me,
therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live (Psalm 116:1-2).

God is so responsive that you can always reach Him. He bends down and listens to your voice.
( Can you imagine Him so mighty that He bends down and listens to puny man). Our love for the Lord has grown because we have experienced answers to our prayers. If you are discouraged, remember that God is near, listening carefully to every prayer and answering each prayer in order to give you His best.

Wisdom For Young People

In the book of Proverbs 1: 7-9 is just a few verses of Solomon's fatherly advice to young people.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Hear, my son (and daughter), your father's instruction
And do not forsake your mother's teaching;
Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head
And ornaments about your neck.

We as parent should teach our children early in life, that the only way to become truly wise is to fear (revere) God. Too often people want to skip this step, thinking they can become wise by life experience and academic knowledge alone. But if we do not acknowledge God as the source of wisdom, then our foundation for making wise decisions is shaky, and we are prone to mistakes and foolish choices.

Hate Evil, you Who Love The LORD

There is so much going on in this world today. Sin everywhere you turn. Same sex marriage, sex all around, which ought not to be. There is a time and place for everything.
Psalm 97: 10 tells us to hate evil, you who love the LORD. Who preserves the souls of His godly ones; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
A sincere desire to please God will result in an alignment of your desires with God's desires. You will love what God loves and hate what God hates. If you love the Lord, you will hate evil. If you do not despise the actions of people who take advantage of others, if you admire people who only look out for themselves, or if you envy those who get ahead using any means to accomplish their ends, then your primary desire in life is not to please God. Learn to love God's way and hate evil in every form-not only the obvious sins but also the socially acceptable ones.

In Psalm 103, David's praise focused on God's glorious deeds. What God does for us tells what He is really like. It is so easy to complain about life, but David's list gives us plenty for which to praise God-He pardons our iniquities, heals our diseases, redeems us from death, crowns us with lovingkindness and compassion, satisfies our desires, and gives righteousness and justice.
