For After I Turned Back, I Repented
'For after I turned back, I repented;
And after I was instructed, I smote on my thigh; I was ashamed and also humiliated. Because I bore the reproach of my youth.' Jeremiah 31:19.
As Israel's mourning turned to joy. They showed grief and mourning by striking
their thigh. The northern kingdom had sunk into the most degrading sins, as we have in America today. God still loved the people. Many turn to God, repenting of their sins, and God would forgive. God still loves you, despite anything you may have done. He will forgive you if you turn back to him.
