Pray For God's Mercy On America

Jeremiah, in the book of Lamentations gives us a picture of the bitter suffering the people of Jerusalem experienced when sin caught up with them and God turned His back on them. America must realize that a high calling flouted by low living results in deep suffering. Every material goal Jerusalem had lived for collapsed. Almost, every material goal we have lived for collapsed. Think about it, will you?
Although God turned away from them because of their sin, he did not abandon them. Nor has He abandon America. As God was their great hope. He is the same yesterday, and today and forever. (Heb 13:8)
Despite our sinful past, God will restore us if we returned to him. Our distress should turn us toward him, not away from him.
Restore us to You, O Lord, that we may be restored; Renew our days as of old,
Unless You have utterly rejected us and are exceedingly angry with us Lamentations 5:21-22.

Clean Your Hands With Soap And Water

AARP Bulletin in this month issue, reports that a hospital germ on the warpath.

The new germ is called C. diff, short for Clostridium difficile, is raging through hospitals, infecting hundreds of thousand of patients a year. The bacteria contaminate every surface, including bed rails, bed tables, nurses' uniforms, privacy curtains faucets and call buttons. When patients touch these surfaces and then pick up food without washing their hands, they ingest the germ. To kill the germ, you need to use bleach.

What can you do to protect yourself? Insist that everyone treating you clean their hands before touching you. Clean your own hands thoroughly before eating. do not touch your hands to your lips. Use wipes containing bleach to clean the items around your bed. do not mix clothes from the hospital with the family wash; wash with bleach. Regular laundry detergents do not kill C. diff.

Don't Miss The Point

Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path. Psalm 119:105

Here Paul , was picturing a Christian who is under attack by Satan, warning us that unless our feet are firmly shod, we can easily be knocked down and disabled. Therefore, we must stand firm on the truths of the gospel. In other words, he is saying: don't get into a fight with the Devil in your bare feet. make sure you are well shod, for if you are not, he will most certainly get the better of you.

Yes, we should always be ready to share Christ with others. Again, here Paul don't want us to miss the point. Not having shoes on our feet, the Word of God in you that hope of glory.
