Before you began to read the Bible, his Word, ask as the psalmist did. Open my eyes, to see your wonderful truths in your law. I am a stranger in the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me (Psalm 119:18,19).

We too are strangers in the earth, and need guidance from day to day. We need a GPS, map or guide for almost any long trip. The Bible should be our road map, as we travel through life. Pointing out obstacles to avoid, safe routes, and our final destination. We must recognize ourselves as pilgrims and strangers, travelers here on earth who need to study God's map to learn the way. If we ignore the map, we will wander aimlessly through life and risk missing our real destination, Heaven. Don't miss it, stay in His Word.

Do You Have Both Beauty and Discretion?

Proverbs 11:22, tells us that a woman who is beautiful but lacks discretion is like a gold ring in a pig's snout.

It's very important that young ladies and women know that physical attraction without discretion (Mother wit) will soon run out. We must look and desire those character strengths that help us make wise decisions, not just those that make us look good. Not everyone who looks good is the best people to be around. Don't take this the wrong way. We're to take good care of our bodies and appearance, and in doing so develop the ability to think what is good and evil.

Don't Give up in Your Efforts to Seek God

Matthew 7: 7-8 says, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you, "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Jesus tells us to persist in pursuing God. People often give up after a few halfhearted efforts and conclude that God cannot be found. But knowing God takes faith, focus, and follow-through, and Jesus assures us that we will be rewarded. Don't give up in your efforts to seek God. Continue to ask him for more knowledge, wisdom, patience, love, and understanding. He will give them to you.

A preacher finished the service one morning by saying, "Next Sunday. I am going to preach on the subject of liars. As a preparation for my sermon, I would like you all to read Mark 17."

On the following Sunday, the preacher rose to begin. Looking out at the congregation he said, "Last week I asked you all to read Mark 17. If you have read the chapter, please raise your hand." Nearly every hand in the congregation went up. Smiling, the preacher said,"You are the very people I want to talk to. Mark has only 16 chapters."

Be Silent, and Know That I am God!

Come, see the glorious works of the LORD; See how He brings destruction upon the world and causes wars to end throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and snaps the spear in two; He burns the shields with fire. "Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world." The LORD Almighty is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress (Psalm 46: 8-11).

In this world, many great cities have rivers flowing through them, sustaining people's lives by making agriculture possible and facilitating goods with other cities. Jerusalem had no river, but it had God who, like a river, sustained the people's lives. As long as God lived among the people, the city was invincible. But when the people abandoned Him, God no longer protected them, and Jerusalem fell to the Babylonian army.

War and destruction are inevitable, but so is God's final victory. At that time, all will stand quietly before the Lord Almighty. How proper, then, for us to be still now, reverently honoring Him and His power and majesty. Take time each each day to be still and to exalt God.

Faith is Hoping for What you Cannot See

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval (Hebrews 11: 1-2).

Moses became one of Israel's greatest leaders, a prophet and a lawgiver. It took faith for Moses to give up his place in the palace, but he could do it because he saw the fleeting nature of great wealth and prestige. It is easy to be deceived by the temporary benefits of wealth, status, achievement,and popularity, and to be blind to the long-range benefits of God's kingdom. Faith helps us look beyond the world's value system to see the eternal values of God's kingdom.

What is your Attitude Today?

But Moses told the people, "Don't be afraid. Just stand where you are and watch the LORD rescue you. The Egyptians that you see today will never be seen again. The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent," (Exodus 14: 13-14).

The people were despairing and hostile, but Moses encouraged them to watch the awesome way God would rescue them. Moses had a positive attitude! When it looked as if they were trapped. Moses called upon God to intervene. Today, we may not be chased by an army, but we may still feel trapped. Instead of giving in to despair, we should adopt Moses' attitude to "stand by and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today."

How do we Receive God's Guidance?

Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you (Psalm 25: 4-5).

David expressed his desire for guidance. How do we receive God's guidance? The first step is to want to be guided and to realize that God's primary guidance system is in his Word, the Bible. Psalm 119 tells of the endless knowledge found in God's word. By reading it and constantly learning from it, we will gain the wisdom to perceive God's direction for our lives. We may be tempted to demand answers from God, but David asked for direction. When we are willing to seek God, learn from his Word, and obey his commands, then will we receive his specific guidance.

As believers, we are chosen to be priests of the living God. (1 Peter 2:9) A priest offers prayers to God on behalf of another. Through prayer God will give us protection from evil; healing from disease and sickness; wisdom; insight into His plans for our lives and the lives of our children; and blessing (his favor and presence).

You are Never Helpless With God

David, the servant of the LORD, tell us that He reached down from heaven and rescued me; He drew me out of deep waters (Psalm 18:16).

At some point in your life, have you felt your troubles, like "many waters," threaten to drown you? David, helpless and weak, knew that God alone had rescued him from his enemies when he was defenseless. When you hope that God would quickly rescue you from your troubles, remember that He can either deliver you or be your support as you go through them (18:18). Either way, His protection is best for you. When you feel like you're drowning in troubles, ask God to help you, hold you steady, and protect you. In His care, you are never helpless.

God Gives us Strength to Meet our Challenges

God promises to give us strength to meet challenges, but know that He doesn't promise to eliminate them. If He gave us no rough roads to walk, no mountains to climb, and no battles to fight, we would not grow. He does not leave us alone with our challenges, however. Instead He stands beside us, teaches us, and strenghens us to face them.

Are You Aware That Life is Short?

Moses, the man of God, pray in his prayer. Teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12).

When we realize that life is short, it helps us use the little time we have more wisely and for eternal good. We should take time to number our days by asking. "What do I want to see happen in my life before I die? What small step could I take toward that purpose today?"

Hebrew 9:27 says, and inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgement.
All people die physically, but Christ died so that we would not have to die spiritually.

Know That the LORD Made This Day-be Glad!

This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24).

There are days when the last thing we want to do is rejoice. Our guilt or our sorrow is overwhelming, our mood is down, and our situation is out of control.

Oftentimes, the writers of the psalms felt this way. but no matter how down the psalmists felt, they were always honest with God. And as they talked to God, their prayers ended in praise. So when you don't feel like rejoicing, tell God how you truly feel. You will find that God will give you a reason to rejoice. God has given you this day to live and to serve him-be glad!

The Lord is in His Holy Temple

Pray for the people of Haiti, that God will provide all of their needs.

But the LORD is in His holy Temple; the LORD still rules from heaven. He watches everything closely, examining everyone on earth (Psalm 11:4).

When the foundations are shaking and you wish you could hide, remember that God is still in control. His power is not diminished by any turn of events. Nothing happens without his knowledge and permission. When you feel like running away-run to God. He will restore justice and goodness on the earth in his good time.

This I Know

The Lord knows those that are His (II Timothy 2: 19).

As I began sorting through a stack of books a tract fell out.
I picked it up and read it. This is what it said"

When You Face Trials

Storms will come into your life if you live long enough.

" My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing this, that the testing of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing" (James 1: 2-4).

Whether you believe it or not, we can't really know the depth of our character until we see how we react under pressure. It is very easy to be kind to others when everything is going well, but can we still be kind when others are treating us unfairly? It is God's desire to make us mature and complete, not to keep us from all pain. Instead of complaining about our struggles, we should see them as opportunities for growth. Thank God for promising to be with you in rough times. Constantly, ask Him to help you solve your problems to give you the strength to endure them. Then be patient. God will not leave you alone with your problems; he will stay close and help you grow.

I don't know what or who your giant Goliath is in your life today, but I do know One who is more than able to deliver you so you can have the victory as David did. First, you need to surround yourself with godly men and women. Who won't dwell on where you've been, but where you're going. Pray to God, and tell Him all about what's weighing you down. Be honest with the Lord, don't lie to Him. Learn to read your Bible daily, and believe by faith that God is who He says that He is.

Do You Have a Regular Time to Pray and Read God's Word?

Give ear to my words, O Lord, Consider my groaning. Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, for to You I pray. In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch (Psalm 5: 1-3).

In order to have a close relationship with God is to pray to Him earnestly in the morning. In the morning our minds are more free from problems and then we can commit the whole day to God. Communicating regularly helps any friendship and is certainly necessary for a strong relationship with God. We need to communicate with Him daily. How so? Reading His Word.

Sin Can Leave You Feeling Guilty and Embarrassed

Adam and Eve

Genesis 3:7 says, at that moment, their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness, so they strung fig leaves together around their hips to cover themselves.

After sinning, Adam and Eve felt guilt and embarrassment over their nakedness. Due to their guilty feelings they tried to hide from God. There is a guilty conscience that God placed inside you that goes off when you've done wrong. Like a smoke detector in your home, when there is a fire it will go off to warn you of danger. Don't get rid of the guilty feelings without eliminating the cause. That would be like putting a bandage on skin cancer but not treating the disease. Thank God those guilty feelings are there. They make you know that you have sin so you can ask God's forgiveness and then go and do that sin no more.

Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22).

This morning as I looked out the window, the sun shinning against the snow showing it beauty on the earth. It made me realize that it is because of God's Amazing Grace and His Loving kindness toward us.

In Psalm 147:16-18, the Psalmist says, He sends the snow like white wool; He scatters frost upon the ground like ashes. He hurls the hail like stones. Who can stand against His freezing cold? Then, at His command, it all melts. He sends His winds, and the ice thaws.

Be warm this winter season. Meditate on His Word.

It is Impossible for God to Lie

God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given us both his promise and his oath. Those two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence.
This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain of heaven into God's inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the line of Melchizedek (Hebrews 6: 17-20).

Hebrews 4: 12-16, tells us that the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are. Nothing in all creation can hide from him. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes. This is the God to whom we must explain all that we have done.

That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for the faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin. so let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will fine grace to help us when we need it.

I urge you to display your spiritual leadership. Regardless of what others decided, you take a definite stand for the Lord on this eve of All Saints' Day on October 31. Joshua had made a commitment to God, and he was willing to set the example of living by that decision. And you can too. Because the way we live shows others the strength of our commitment to serving God.

He is Still Their God

Jeremiah 51:5 says, for the LORD Almighty has not forsaken Israel and Judah. He is still their God, even though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel."

Our land today is filled with sin against God, Know that He is still our God too.

In 2 Chronicles 6, Solomon asked God to make provisions for the people when they sinned. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God answered with four conditions for forgiveness: (1) humble yourself by admitting your sins, (2) pray to God, asking for forgiveness, (3) seek God continually, and (4) turn from sinful behavior. Know that true repentance is more than talk. It is changed behavior. It does not matter whether we sin as a group, as a nation, or individually, obeying these steps will lead to forgiveness. God will answer our earnest prayers.

When Will I Wake Up?

Pray For The Word Of The LORD To Spread Rapidly

Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; and that we will be rescued from perverse ad evil men; for not all have faith. In our daily life, beneath the surface, a fierce struggle among invisible spiritual powers is being waged. Christ is Coming to Judge the Earth

Paul tells us about being faithful to the Lord in 1 Thessalonians 1: 9-10. For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God. And to wait for His son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.

All of us should respond to the Good News as the Thessalonians did: turn to God, serve God, and wait for his Son, Christ, to return from heaven. We should turn from sin to God because Christ is coming to judge the earth. We should be fervent in our service because we have little time before Christ returns. We should be prepared for Christ to return because we don't know when he will come.

Are You a Fair-Weather Friend?

Proverbs 17:17 says a friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

What kind of friend are you? There is a big difference between knowing someone well and being a true friend. The greatest evidence of genuine friendship is loyalty (loving "at all times") bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Corinthians 13: 7) being available to help in times of personal struggles and distress. Too many people are fair-weather friends. They are there when the friendship helps them and leave when they're not getting anything out of the relationship. Be the kind of true friend the Bible encourages.

We Are Not Good Enough To Save Ourselves

And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach (Colossians 1: 21-22).

No one is good enough to save himself or herself. If we want to live eternally with Christ, we must depend totally on God's grace. This is true whether we have been anything you can name, even murderers or honest, hardworking citizens. We have all sinned repeatedly, and any sin is enough to cause us to come to Jesus Christ for salvation and eternal life. Apart from Christ, there is no way for our sin to be forgiven and removed.

It stated that more than one-third of Americans don't take all their paid vacation days, according to a survey by Expedia.com. On average, three days per year remain unused. However, vacations can rejuvenate, improve productivity, enhance health, and help family members to reconnect. Studies have shown the following;

Men who take vacations are about 30 percent less likely to die from heart disease.

Women who vacation are less likely to be depressed, tired, or dissatisfied with their marriages.

Obedience

Hebrews 5: 8 says, Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the thing which He suffered.

Jesus' human life was a life that He chose freely (John 10: 17-18). It was a ongoing process of making the will of God the Father His own. Jesus chose to obey, (we too must choose to obey Him) even though obedience led to suffering and death. Because Jesus obeyed perfectly, even under great trial, he can help us obey, no matter how difficult obedience seems to be.

We All Have Done Things for Which We are Ashamed

Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet, but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3: 13-14).

In Acts 7: 57-58, Paul had reason to forget what was behind, he took part in the first Christian martyr. He had held the coats of those who stoned Stephen. Paul is called Saul here in these verses. We all have done things for which we are ashamed, and we live to the tension of what we have been and what we want to be, because our hope is in Christ, still, we can let go of past guilt and look forward to what God will help us become.

Don't dwell on your past, instead, grow in the knowledge of God by focusing on your relationship with Him now. You must realize that you are forgiven, and them move on to a life of faith and obedience. Look toward a fuller and more meaningful life because of your hope in Christ.

Abundant Living

In John 10:10, tells us that the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; Jesus, says I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

The thief, which is Satan, his purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus gives life. The life he gives this minute is abundantly fuller and richer. it is forever. In order to experience this abundant living you must first believe by faith that Christ died for our sins, in our place, so we would not have to suffer the punishment we deserve. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed (1 Peter 2:24). If you have been truly converted to Jesus Christ, you know the meaning of abundant living.
God provides the power to give us victory over Satan. Paul said, " We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us"(Romans 8:37). And John wrote, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than the that is in the worlds" (1 John 4:4).

To Those Who Don't believe in God

Their life on earth (now) is all there is, and so it is natural for them to strive for this world's values-power, money, pleasure, popularity, and prestige. In Philippians 1:20-21, Paul says, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Paul believe and knew in his heart to live meant to develop eternal values and to tell others about Christ, who alone could help them see life from an eternal view. He knew his whole purpose in life was to speak out boldly for Christ and to become more like Him. Therefore, he could say with confidence that dying would be even better than living. Why Paul? Because in death he would be removed from worldly troubles, and he would see Christ face-to-face (1 John 3: 2-3). If you're not ready to die, then you're not ready to live. Today, make certain of your eternal home; then you will be free to serve-devoting your life to what really counts, without fear of death.

When God Starts a Project He Completes it

Paul's writings are such a blessing to me. In Philippians 1: 6 says, for I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Doing your routine chores day by day. Do you sometimes feel as though you aren't making progress in your spiritual life? Just know, when God starts a project, he completes it! He did it for the Philippians, and He will help you grow in grace until He has completed His work in your life. When you are dishearten, remember that God won't give up on you. He promises to finish the work he has begun. When you feel unfinished, incomplete, or distressed by your shortcomings, remember God's promise and provision. Whatever you do, don't let your present condition rob you of the joy of knowing Christ or keep you from growing closer to Him.

Don't Wait To Late

Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near (Isaiah 55: 6).

Isaiah tells us to call on the Lord while He is near. God is not planning to move away from us, but we often move far from Him or setup a barrier between ourselves and Him. Don't wait until you have drifted far away from God to seek Him. When we wait later in life to turn to Him, oftentimes, it is far more difficult. Or God may come to judge the earth before you decide to turn to Him. Seek God now, while you can, before it is to late.

You Shall Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another (Galatians 5: 14-15).

When we are not motivated by love, we become critical of others. We stop looking for good in them and see only there faults. Soon the unity of believers is broken. Have you talked behind someone's back? Have you focused on others' shortcomings instead of their strengths? Remind yourself of Jesus' command to love others as you love yourself (Matthew 22:39). When you begin to feel critical of someone, make a list of that person's positive qualities. If there are problems that need to be addressed, it is better to confront in love than to gossip.

Do Not Be Afraid

Moses said to the people, " Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you , so that you may not sin" (Exodus 20:20).

Throughout the Bible we find this phrase, "Do not be afraid." God wasn't trying to scare the people. He was showing his mighty power so the Israelites would know he was the true God and would therefore obey him. If they would do this, he would make his power available to them.
God wants us to follow him out of love rather than fear. To overcome fear, we must think more about his love. First John 4:18 says, "Perfect love casts out fear."

It's God's Work Not Yours

sPaul tells us in 1 Corinthians 6: 11, that such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
Some of us have been and done many things. Notice the word "but" you were washed, sanctified, justified in His Name. God alone can remove all of the many sinful things that we have done.
Paul emphasizes God's action in making believers new people. The three aspects of God's work are all part of our salvation. Our sins were washed away, we were set apart for special use ("sanctified"), and we were pronounced not guilty ("justified") for our sins.

Sanctification, Where Is Our Sexual Standards?

For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality (1 Thessalonians 4: 3).

Sanctification, being made holy, is the process of living the Christian life. The Holy spirit works in us, conforming us into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29).

During the Romans empire sexual standards were very low, and in many societies today they are not any higher, maybe lower. the temptation to engage in sexual intercourse outside the marriage relationship has always been powerful. Giving in to that temptation can have disastrous results. Sexual sins always hurt someone; families, individuals, businesses, churches.

Besides the physical consequences, there are also spiritual consequences.
Sexual desires and activities must be placed under Christ's control. God created sex for procreation and pleasure, and as an expression of love between a husband and wife. Sexual experience must be limited to the marriage relationship to avoid hurting ourselves, our relationship to God, and our relationships with others.

Characteristics of Unbelievers

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6: 9-11).

Paul describes what unbelievers are like in 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11. He doesn't mean that fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes (effeminate), homosexuals, thieves, greedy people (covetous), drunkards, revilers, or swindlers are automatically and totally excluded from heaven. Believers come out of all kinds of different backgrounds, including these. They may still struggle with evil desires, but they should not continue in these practices. Paul makes it clear that even those who sin in these ways can have their lives changed by Christ. but those who say that they are Christians but continue in these practices with no sign of remorse will not inherit the kingdom of God. Such people need to reevaluate their lives to see if they truly believe in Christ.
In today's society it is easy for Christians to overlook or tolerate some immoral behaviors (drunkenness, greed, etc.) while remaining outraged at others (thievery, homosexuality). We must not participate in sin or condone it in any way, nor may we be selective about what we condemn or excuse. Staying away from more "acceptable" forms of sin is difficult, but it is no harder for us than it was for the Corinthians. God expects his followers in any age to have high standards.

The Bible Was Written For Our Instruction

Paul, tells us in Romans 15:4 for whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

The knowledge of the Scriptures affects our attitude toward the present and the future. The more we know about what God has done in years past, the greater the confidence we have about what he will do in the days ahead. We should read our Bibles diligently to increase our trust that God's will is best for us.

Broken Relationships

Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering (Matthew 5:23-24).

We're to obey God's Word. Broken relationships can hinder our relationship with God. I don't want to be without His goodness. Do you? If we have a problem or grievance with a friend, or family member, we should resolve the problem as soon as possible. If we don't we are hypocrites if we claim to love God while we hate others. Our attitudes toward others reflect our relationship with God(1 John 4:20).

Believers Are Dead to Sin, Alive to God

Romans 6: 8-10 says, "Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. Because of Christ's death and resurrection, his followers need never fear death. That assurance frees us to enjoy fellowship with him and to do his will. This will affect all your activities-work and worship, play, Bible study, prayer meeting, quiet times, and times of caring for others. When you know that you don't have to fear death, you will experience a new vigor in life.

One Man Plunged the Whole World into Sin

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned (Romans 5:12).

Many are asking the question. How can we be declared quilty for something Adams did thousands of years ago? Many feel it isn't right for God to judge us because of Adam's sin.
Yet each of us confirms our behavior with Adams by our own sins each day. We are made of the same stuff (dust), and are prone to rebel, and we are judged for the sins we commit.
Because we are sinners, it isn't fairness we need. It is mercy.

The Bible is the Only Standard of Truth

For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen (Romans 1:25).

People tend to believe lies that reinforce their own selfish, personal beliefs. Today, more than ever, we need to be careful about the input we allow to form our beliefs. With TV, movies, music, and the rest of the media often presenting sinful life-styles and unwholesome values, we find ourselves constantly bombarded by attitudes and beliefs that are totally opposed to the Bible. Be careful about what you allow to form your opinions. The bible is the only standard to truth. Evaluate all other opinions in light of its teachings.

God's Household is not a Building

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and Prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit (Ephesians 2:19-22).

A church building is sometimes called God's house. In reality, God's household is not a building, but a group of people. He lives in us a shows Himself to a watching world through us. People can see that God is love and that Christ is Lord as we live in harmony with each other and in accordance with what God says in His Word. We are citizens of God's kingdom and members of his household.

Jesus Is Not Dead! He Is Alive!

EASTER.
The word "Easter" occurs only once in the Bible (Acts 12:4), the only time the KIV translates pascha (usually "Passover") in the way. It is the day on which most Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

There is no celebration of the Resurrection in the NT. The Jewish Christians linked it with the Passover, and so observed it on the fourteenth day on Nisan regardless of the day of the week. But Gentile believers celebrated the Resurrection on the Lord's Day, Sunday. This difference was settled by the Council of Nicea in A.D. 325, which ruled that Easter should be celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon following the vernal equinox. This is the system followed today, the date of Easter varying between march and April 25.

Last week as I was reading the USA weekend in the Chicago Daily Herald, this article made sense to me.

Wake up. Get dressed. Grab some coffee. Get the kids off to school. Drive to work. Next morning: repeat. does that sound familiar? No wonder Frank Lipman, M.D., director of the Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in New York City, hears so many patients complain about constant lack of energy.

"We are out of sync with our body rhythms," he says. The fast pace we live by isn't natural, causing our bodies to work harder to keep up. And the typical diet high in sugar and processed foods only adds to the fatigue. Lipman, the author of Spent: End Exhaustion and Feel Great Again, offers re-energizing dietary tips:

Cut out sugar and processed foods. "It's the most important and hardest thing to do," Lipman says. Eat more fruits and vegetables instead.

Eat a better breakfast. Your metabolism is faster in the morning than it is later in the day, so don't skimp on this meal. "The biggest problem is, American breakfast is poison," Lipman says. Instead of sugary breakfast foods like doughnuts, eat food high in protein and good fats, like a veggie omelet.

Learn to love veggies. Although it's contrary to the traditional American meal, eat a main course of vegetables with a small side of meat to provide the right balance of nutrients.

You're Right Where You're Supposed To Be

Few circumstances in our lives evolve perfectly. Health problems develop, jobs don't work out, or, even worse, significant other leave us. for a time we can't cope. we become angry, distraught, or full of self-pity. When a sponsor or friend says "You're just where you need to be, " we want to scream. With time, however, we usually calm down and accept this message.

A divine plan is unfolding in our lives. we don't know ahead of time the route we will take or the destination we will arrive at. Our wisdom is simply the certainty that we are "in the right place at the right time." Our God Almighty is in charge, and whatever our experiences, they are preparing us for the rest of our journey.

The Polluted Land

In spite of their great sin,the people of Israel continued to talk like they were God's children.The only way they could do this was to minimize their sin. When we know we've done something wrong, we want to downplay the error ad relieve some of the guilt we feel. As we minimize our sinfulness, we naturally shy away from making changes, and so we keep on sinning. But if we view every wrong attitude and action as a serious offense against God, we will begin to understand what living for God is all about.Is there any sin in your life that you've written off as too small to worry about? God says that we must confess and turn away from every sin.

Do your work, be patient, and keep a pleasant disposition.

Pay no attention to ill-natured remarks; simply live so nobody will believe them.

Spend some time alone each day with God.

Ask For Prayer

But Simon answered and said,"Pray to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me" (Acts 8:24).

Were you defensive, hurt or angry, the last time a friend or parent rebuked you? We can all learn a lesson from Simon and his reaction to what Peter told him. He spoke loudly, "Pray to the Lord for me." If you are rebuked for a serious mistake, it is for your good. admit your wrong, repent quickly, and ask for prayer.

In These Difficult Times Wait for the LORD

Wait for the LORD and keep His way,

And He will exalt you to inherit the land;

When the wicked are cut off, you will see it (Psalm 37:40).

It is hard to wait patiently for God to do something when we want change right away. But God promises that if we submit to His timing, He will honor us. Peter said, "Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time"(1 Peter 5:6).

Be patient, steadily doing the work God has given you to do, and allow God to choose the best time to change your circumstances.

What Shall We Do?

"Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ-this Jesus whom you crucified." Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "brethren, what shall we do?"(Acts 2:36-37).

After Peter's powerful, Spirit-filled message, the people were deeply moved and asked, "What shall we do?" This is the basic question we must ask. It is not enough to be sorry for our sins-we must let God forgive them, and then we must live like forgiven people, Has God spoken to you through his Word of through the words of another believer? Like Peter's audience, ask God what you should do, and then obey.

12 Ease into Sleep Strategies

1. Create a bedtime ritual - regularly do something that relaxes you as a trigger to sleep.

2. Take a nap- nap early (not later) in the day to catchup on missed sleep.

3. Do breathing exercises - Breath deeply and slowly while counting to 10.

4. Be consistent - get to bed at a regular time and get up again at the same time each day.

5. Write down your thoughts - a swirling mind can wake us up. Put thoughts onto paper instead.

6. Dust the bedroom - allergies to dust can keep you awake.

7. Keep cool - lower the thermostat before bedtime to induce sleepiness.

8. Exercise earlier - you heat up during exercise. A cooler body is ready for sleep.

9. Clean air - add plants to the bedroom or use air purifiers to help clean air.

10. Listen to talk radio - this interrupts the thoughts that are keeping you awake.

11. Stay in the dark - even minimal light can affect the quality of your sleep.

12. Use aromatherapy - Lavender is a popular herbal sleep aid.

No Sin is too Great for Jesus to Forgive

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, "You are not also one of His disciples, are you?" He denied it, and said, "I am not." One of the slaves of the high priest, being a relative of the one whose ear Peter cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the garden with Him?" Peter then denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed (John 18: 25-27).

Imagine standing outside while Jesus, your Lord and Master, is questioned. Imagine watching this man, whom you have come to believe is the long-awaited Messiah, being abused and beaten. Naturally Peter was confused and afraid. It is a serious sin to deny Christ, but Jesus forgave Peter (21:15-17). No sin is too great, nor to small for Jesus to forgive if you are truly repentant. He will forgive even your worst sin if you turn from it and ask his pardon.
