What Are Our Options?

Halloween is such a big retail holiday and celebrations have crept into our churches, and schools, kids will want to know why they can't do what their friends at school and in the neighborhood are doing on Halloween. This is definitely not an insurmountable problem, but there is even a bigger issue that we need to think about.

Let's look at the big picture for a minute. Because Halloween is such huge business, there is a lot of publicity and attention given to October 31. Why not take advantage of all this outward display and use it to "turn on the light" of God's Word with an alternative that could take people one step closer to a relationship with Jesus? Ephesians 5:16 encourages us to "makes the most of every opportunity," and Halloween is just such an occasion for Christians who are serious about making a difference in their world.

Use your God given talent and invite the neighbor-hood children to your home
or church for a real treat! Bake and decorate cookie, serve fresh apple cider and milk. Have someone to explain Halloween as to why Christians should not dress up and go all out on October 31.

Remember that the devil wants you to think following Jesus is stupid. "You'll have no fun doing that," he says.
But Jesus says in John 10:10 in the Bible that He came so you could have a life that is full.

The Almighty God is a Shelter

God is a shelter, a refuge when we are afraid. When we put our faith in the Almighty God as Protector. He will carry us through all the dangers and fears of life. This should be a picture
of our trust- trading all our fears for faith in Him, no matter how intense our fears.
To do this we must "dwell" and "abide" with Him.
By entrusting ourselves to His protecton and pledging our daily devotion to Him,
We will be kept safe.

God doesn't promise a world free from danger, but He does promise His help whenever we face danger (Psalm 91:1-6).

Do You Know When and What to Sing About?

Singing cheerful songs to a person whose heart is heavy is as bad as stealing someone's jacket in cold weather or rubbing salt in a wound. Proverbs 25:20

Autumn is here, what is your attitude?

Autumn is here, all because of God's plan. Not that the trees decided to shed there
beautiful leaves of many colors to prepare for spring. They only obey the One who
created all things. With respect and gratitude.

What is your attitude when you come into God's presence? We should come with fear and trembling. (that is, awe and respect) because God sets the boundaries for the roaring seas and establishes the rains and harvests. God had to strip away all the benefits that Judah and Israel had grown to respect more than Him, with the hope that the people would turn back to God. Don't wait until God removes your cherished resources before committing yourself to Him as you should. Jeremiah 5:22-24

Let us turn back to God, before He have to strip away all the benefits that we have grown to respect more than Him.

This is public information

The word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are.
Nothing in all creation can hide from Him. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes. This is the God to whom we must explain all that we have done.
That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to Him and never stop trusting Him. This High Priest or ours understand our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same temptations we do, yet He did not sin.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it. Hebrews 4:12-16

Are you one to set traps for others?

Be Mindful...If you set a trap for others, you will get caught in it yourself. If you roll a boulder down on others, it will roll back and crush you. Proverbs 26:27
