Food for Beautiful Skin

Be aware, what you put inside your body matters, too.

The following vitamins can make a big difference in your

skin's appearance.

Selenium, good sources: Tilapia, tuna, shrimp and cod,

whole wheat pasta, brazil nuts, lean beef.

Zinc, good sources: Turkey, chicken, peanut butter,

The Choice Facing Us

"Whoever is faithful in very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.
"Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? Luke 16:10-11

Our integrity often meets its match in money matters. God calls us to be honest even in small details we could easily rationalize away. Heaven's riches are far more valuable than earthly wealth. But if we are not trustworthy with our money here (no matter how much or little we have), we will be unfit to handle the vast riches of God's kingdom. Don't let your integrity slip in small matters, and it will not fail you in crucial decisions either.

The Reflections of the Heart

The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, but the Lord weighs the motives. Proverbs 16:1,2

"The answer of the tongue is from the Lord" means that the final outcome of the plans we make is in God's hands. If this is so, why make plans? In doing God's will, these must be partnership between out efforts and God's control. He wants us to use our minds, to seek the advice of others, and to plan. Nevertheless, the results are up to Him. Planning, then, helps us act God's way. As you live for Him, ask for guidance as you plan, and then act on your plan as you trust in Him.

"All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight." People can rationalize anything if they have no standards for judging right and wrong. We can always prove that we are right. Before putting any plan into action , ask yourself these three questions: (1) is this plan in harmony with God's truth? (2) Will it work under real-life conditions? (3) is my attitude pleasing to God?

Happy Fathers' Day!

This is the first commandment with a promise attached. To live in peace for generations in the promised land, the Israelites would need to respect authority and build strong families. But what does it mean to "honor" parents? Partly, it means speaking well of them and politely to them.

It also means acting in a way that shows them courtesy and respect.

Remember parents have a special place in God's sight.

Depression: The Silent Killer in the Pews

their commitment to serve, are irritable and difficult to get along with, or

seem to be riding on an emotional roller coaster all of the time? These

precious people of God just may be suffering from depression, an aggressive silent killer in the pews that may not be talked about because of the stigma associated with mental illness.

Depression is a treatable disease.
